WBFJ Christmas Office Party...monster appears!

Kurt opens the party with his rendition of "ELF"... rapidly replacing Wally's "Itsy bitsy Spider" thing in popularity.

And is a bit more colorful. Sorry Wally.

Verne gazes into his Giant Appalachian Tree ornament (from Bonnie) and predicts Applachian will have a great 2007 season. YEAH, RIGHT, Verne...YOU'RE JUST CHECKING YOUR HAIR!!! You're BUSTED!!!!

Darren gets a bowl of hot stuff...

Darren sweats a little.

Jenn gets gloves?

("Why did Wally give me these rubber gloves and 10 bottles of PURELL? Is he trying to tell me something?" He's getting a gallon of Pinesol at the New Years Party! or worse!)

Wally admiring his "Friends Are Friends Forever Book" by Michael W. Smith given by Tami with an "i". Apparently this book has been showing up a lot on a regular basis.

Tami managed to write stuff all in it to end the "Fruitcake Syndrome". Wally you'd have to tear out half the book to re-gift it (Come to think of it...maybe that explains why half the pages from the "Purpose Driven Devotions" book Wally gave me last year were missing.lol) If you click on the picture you can read a little of it.

Poor Eric...he tried to act surprised by his gift from Deke. Apparently Deke ruffled up the Wednesday sales papers and stuffed them in a bag to look like a real gift. Eric was so gracious..."Thanks Deke... Now I'll get to see all the sales I missed last week...I am so happy...I thought I had missed those deals...yipee" (if you ever saw the movie "The Jerk" (preferably the tv version) this will make more sense..lol)

When Deke got his gift of his favorite coffee, out of guilt, he hid his face ...raised his hand and admitted he had given Eric a bag of papers. Shame off you Deke!

Being a Lover of Country Style Steak and Mashed Potatoes I was overjoyed when Kurt gave me a gift certificate for BELL BROTHERS CAFE. I looked over at Wally and saw the envy in his face.

Tami was so blessed...TY Pennington from ABC's "EXTREME MOME MAKEOVER" sent her an "Extreme Home Makeover Production Kit" complete with a roll of official "HOT SET" yellow caution tape from the program...

And an "OFFICIAL TY APPROVED" "little Wonder" hand drill...made officially in TY-Wan.

And an "Official" autographed Ty MEGAPHONE...complete with batteries and a siren!

"M-O-V-E
T-H-A-T
B-U-S !!!!!!!!"

"Boys this party is over....
IT'S A WRAP!"

MERRY CHRISTMAS WITH A CAPITAL "C"...

Oh MY, we've created a monster! lol.

The Tale of two Kiddies...

OK...you guess...morning show baby pictures...which is Verne and which one is Darren..duh!

Blogger small print: after checking with Darren and Verne's granparents we have determined we have some cute baby pictures here but not their pride and joys...but you'll have to admit, they do look like our morning boys, now don't they? LOL.

Christmas...out side the lines...

I've been fighting the sinus stuff the past few days but feeling a little better tonight. While out on our little mini shopping spree Judy looked over at me and noticed my lips were really chapped.

"Yeah, I know...I'm really raw from this sinus stuff".

Before we got out of the car I asked Judy to pass me the Chapstick in the dash...

The car behind us was pulling out and blinding me in my rearview so I smeared the Chapstick on quickly the best I could and got out of the car...

Once we stepped into the light...

Judy looked over at me and said "JOHN!...you better get back into the car..."

"NOW!"

Once back inside the car... Judy broke out laughing like crazy!

"You better look in the Mirror"

"WHAT?"

OK...Class...three lessons here.

(1) Make sure your Chapstick is not the girl kind mixed with lipstick
(if it's got a Santa on it...BEWARE!)
(2) Don't apply anything to your lips in the dark
(3) and if you do...make sure you color within the lines (use a mirror!)

ooh...and one more thing...if you do... make sure you keep a camera handy!

"Big Red" heading to the "Scooter" store...next

Does Your Pet Have Difficulty Climbing Up To His Favorite Spot?

Mema ran into this problem with "Big Red". Mema is tired when she comes in from working all day at the Walmart fabric department so she can't lift "Big Red" into the truck or anywhere else!

And to complicate matters, "Big Red" doesn't get around well...he's actually got a bullet lodged in his hip from a hunting accident when he was younger. Mema gives him 2 Asprin everyday to relieve his pain...

Mema went online and found the answer! Now "Big Red" can climb into the truck! Or anywhere he pleases!

I-N-T-R-O-D-U-C-I-N-G...The Revolutionary..."DOGGY STEPS"...

It’s just the right height to help smaller and older dogs (FEEBLE FROM HUNTING ACCIDENTS) step up where they want to go - up to couches and beds. It’s also great for pets to step up into cars or trucks. It’s lightweight and portable so it goes anywhere and no more bending over to help your pet up… so there’s less stress on your back too!

Doggy Steps is essential for pets with hip dysplasia, arthritis, simply old age...(BULLET WOUNDS)! Doggy Steps gives your pet freedom from the floor—and more COMPANIONSHIP than ever before!

Call 1-800-670-0377 (STEP Here)

We're getting two! One for the truck and one for the house! You can't have enough "Doggy Steps!)

And you thought I was kidding... MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Now I'm seeing reindeer! true that!

I really think I have been watching one too many Christmas movies! Seriously I've seen my share of reindeer in the last few days and what happened tonight makes me think I have O.D.'d on Santa movies.

This is a true story...

Tonight I was waiting in the car for Judy to pick up a few things in the grocery store... I was singing "White Christmas"...the Drifter's version on my previous blog posting...you know, the one with the antimated singing Santa and Moosey looking Reindeer...

AND then I looked up into the western sky...LO and BEHOLD I saw the swishy outline in the clouds of a giant running moose-reindeer, just like the one in the antimation.

I could even see the antlers and tail on the left! Click Right HERE to review the animation.

What's even stranger...apparently, I'm the only one who "saw" it...Judy said it looked like a seal...

I feel special...I think ??? I may be spending Christmas in Santa la la land if these "happenings" continue. lol.

PS...I already know what Tami is going to say:
"John, I know Santa and Rudolf...
they are good friends of mine...
You're not Santa...
and that's not Rudolf you saw in the sky"

OK..could have been "Prancer" or "Dancer"... would you believe..."Sleepy" or "Dopey"... how about "Pinochio's pet collie?

This'll give you H-A-P-P-Y F-E-E-T...or at least a happy heart

The sinus crud has caught up with me and has slowed me down a little... but this litle diddy from Susan cheered me up... I think you'll like it too... make sure your speakers are up!

more friends... meet ... SAM

Hi!
I have another friend I need to tell you about...

MY FRIEND Sam...(first name only to protect the reputaion of the President of his company)

Son of SOLOMON we call him because he is so wise...(Let's assume Sam's the man on the right of me and the donkey...duh.The donkey is in the picture just to get your attention...donkey pictures always do that for some reason....lol.)

SAM has the wisdom of SOLOMON...he was a world traveler in the 60's and is still an instant party when he arrives... SAM is a telephone programming genius and VP of a major telecommunications company in the Triad (which I won't mention to protect his team members)... so we don't get to see him often...but we are happy when he lays hands on our telephone system and these CONVERGENT TECHNOLOGIES happen at the station.

Sam is a "straight-shooter" but I did catch him in a week moment trying to "pull ones leg" so this is definitely the exception but we all did enjoy this moment captured for our digital archives...and we are hoping Sam's team members check papajohn's place real often...LOL.

You brighten our lives Sam..thanks for all "you-all" do for the station.

(BLOGGER WARNING: enjoy this blog early as I may get busted for exposing this candid picture and have to do the worm thing and do a complete retraction...lol.)

"Birds of a feather...Flock to BFJ...."

"WELCOME PAULA-KEET"... Yep...we were blessed with our Christmas visit from our friend Paula, her dad and nurse Debbie...

As you remember, Paula has two beautiful children with beautiful feathers. Brandi and Taylor couldn't make it but they sent gifts...thanks, girls!

And Paula thanks for the delicious Red Velvet Cake..more about that later.

Bonnie led the shopping and helped us get just the right thing for Paula... I think she liked it, don't you? It was cool if I do say so myself. But there's more...

A musical snow globe...Paula isn't a big fan of real snowy days since that makes transportation hard for nurse Debbie. But this musical version is ok.

Poor Tami got all caught up in this emotional time of gift giving and wanted to give Paula something close to her (Tami's) heart. So poor Tami searched her office frantically and finally came up with her year's collection of used Scotch and packing tape. As you remember, Tami is really big on the use of Scotch tape.

Nurse Debbie graciously received the "tape blob" for Paula though I didn't see all that much excitement on their faces. Debbie did comment..."that should be handy lifting large fiber balls and lint from our clothes..."

Now back to the Red Velvet Cake...the bfj belly boys rushed in and started scarving it up...

Poor belly boy Nolan (our intern) ate so much he flaked out in the AM control room floor!

I almost missed the boat on this one myself...it went so fast!

Thankfully I was able to hide one piece...the last piece is the best.lol!

Thanks Paula, Debbie and Mr. V. Thanks Brandi and Taylor for the special gifts. We all are definitely birds of a feather...lol. We love you all!

And love the hat, Paula!

"Oh... I can't believe it !!!"

I've been trying like crazy to locate the nice lady with the purple hair...
to tell her she has been featured a lot on the blog.

Just when I was about to give up... I was watching the Christmas Parade on TV and was so happy to see her again... I was so excited until I got a closer look and found out it wasn't her... but she sure did look familiar! At least she apparently likes WBFJ.

I guess it's like the Santa thing...there's only one real one... all the others are "Helpers"... so looks like I got a "helper" this time but the search goes on!

(NOTE: I appreciate all who appear on my blog...thanks for being good sports)

"Aunt Tami...tell us a story...P-L-E-A-S-E..."

This is the video to go with the audio you've been hearing on WBFJ (Stocking Stuff Spot) with little Verne and little Darren. LOL.

Monday rewind....REMEMBER Deke and his Gameboy...

Darren all pumped up..."Bet you can't do that again!"

DEKE: "Can Too!"

"OK..guys...G-A-M-E O-V-E-R!!!"

NOTE: "FRIENDS of a Feather...Flock..." coming soon to papajohnsplace... PLUS this BFJ Crowd is providing so much blog material I can't keep up...still gotta at least tell you about "Tickle-Me-Elvis"... bear with me! Some serious moments too...between now and January 1.

Hill bros trapped in BFJ Photo Booth...H-E-L-P!

OK..so whatchu expect for a dollar?

(Don't look so innocent...when you're at Myrtle Beach you probably put a dollar or two in those little Photo Booths and took a bunch of crazy pictures, too...right?)

"...when you're not...you're not! LOL.

I was in my cube minding my own business when Bonnie up in her front cubicle... in her own antimated fashion... let the whole office know... she was hot. Then others started saying they were warm also.

I knew I had to nip this in the bud before everybody started toying with the thermostat. So being the tecno person on staff, I took out my non-contact infrared thermometer and checked everybody's radiating temperature (not the internal body temperature or the ambient tempterature) but RADIANT TEMPERATURE.

Bonnie came in at 74.6 F which was about room temperature that day.

Tami was 77.2 F, a tad warmer. (Verne and Darren were unavailable for a check.)

Jen: 82.8 F She was in the AM Control room so that might have skewed the results a degree or two. But anyway, by now I'm thinking there might be something to this.

UM..better check Deke..he's usually pretty cool. Sure enough...in true fashion... Deke was 75.5 F.

Steph was visiting from college and was the one talking to Bonnie so I thought I better check her out, too. Steph was 80.8 F(The fact she now lives at Boiling Springs probably skewed her a little high)

Kurt was wondering what was going on so I decided to take a reading... Kurt was 75.7. F... about average so far.

To keep this experiment scientific I needed to include Cindy, our newest family member. Cindy getting ready to strangle me came in at 75.5 F.

( didn't check Wally or myself...I'm sure our readings would cancel each other out)

CONCLUSION:

The average internal body tempt is 98.6 F and our average staff radiant temperature was about 77.5 on a day when the station tempt was about 75 degrees.

ULTIMATE CONCLUSION:

We're all pretty cool (especially in the Father's eyes)

But none of us...

are as hot...

as we think we are!

And that's all I got to say about that...LOL.
